More Quick Clint Curtis Media Notes and other TidBits...

  • Air America Radio aired their interview with Curtis, as first reported here last night, this morning on their Unfiltered program. Attempting to get a link to the audio, and we've been told by producers at AA that they will be running clips from the interview all week. Will update here when we do.

UPDATE: I'm listening to a copy of the AA interview now, and I should have noted before that AA can proudly take credit for having the first broadcast media interview with Curtis. As well, they were kind enough to give The BRAD BLOG credit for breaking the story. Which we appreciate. Trying to figure out how to get the .MP3's posted at this time. Hopefully AA will be able to host them since we don't currently own the bandwidth to make them available for download (I suspect there will be many who will wish to listen). More as I can get it for ya...

FURTHER UPDATE: Air America has now made the complete Curtis interview is now available online here. (Haven't listened to it yet, but I'm told it contains even more than just the stuff they aired this morning).

HOPEFULLY FINAL UPDATE ON THIS: Crooks and Liars has now posted the Curtis interview as it aired on AA, as opposed to the full uncut 17 minute interview. This version is notable because you'll also get the hosts take on Curtis and the story in general.

  • Also, Curtis appeared on the Thom Hartmann Radio Show this morning in his first hour at Noon ET. .MP3 of the Hartmann interview here. The section with Curtis begins just around the 8 minute mark. (Thanks Greg D!)

  • Curtis met this morning with a U.S. Senator's office to discuss what he claims to know about a certain aspect of his case. We're being purposely vague on details here, as we've been asked, so as not to spook anybody out there in particular.

  • He was also present at today's Dem Judiciary Committee Hearings on the Ohio Election. We're told he was "swarmed afterwards" by folks who wanted to talk to him.

  • And -- as he's been "off the grid" since Monday -- and is wholly unaware of all the discussion that's been taking place on the internet about his story, we informed him of many of the attempts currently taking place to both debunk and/or confirm various elements of he and his claim.

His comment to The BRAD BLOG about that: "Good! We want them to debunk as much possible, since that means they'll research the claims and find out how much is out there about it all...including stuff that I don't even know yet!"

Good. Maybe some of the rest of the United States and the sleeping media will take notice of these events. I smell another Watergate...

Hey Brad keep up the good work,

Fight the Good Fight!

Hey, just one question about Curtis' affidavit:

Why is the font different on the last page (the page that is signed and notorized) from the other 3 pages?

We have so much solid evidence of fraud, we dont need any Karl Rovian (i.e. Rathergate) shenanigans to weaken our case.

I take this very seriously and this is a suspicion that is likely to arise.

Could it be that the first four pages are copies but he was allowed to keep the last one because it had the signatures? I dunno stuff like that.

Brad, nice continued work. Some (including myself) threw in the towel quite a bit prematurely. You're efforts to bring this story to light are much appreciated.

The last page is so different - the difference is not due to it being a photocopy. It is an entirely different format. Very smelly.

Thanks for the mirror hosts, guys. Much appreciated. I think we're okay for now, and it looks like has posted the audio over there.

As to the last page of the affidavit, which I'm *hoping* to include info on in a FAQ on all this stuff if I can ever finish it! (Has been pretty busy around here since Monday!)...Here's the reason:

The doc was black and white except for the purple ink in the signature on the final page. Apparently the person who scanned it, had the scanner set on an "Automatic" setting and the scanning program apparently kicked into Color mode only when it got to the last page.

I was concerned that folks would get distracted by that, so I asked to have it rescanned and resent to me for that reason. It was resent again, but the same problem occured again. The person couldn't figure out how to change the scan settings properly, and then had to go, so that's the version I had to go with.

The *original* unscanned version (or copies of it) have been given to all the folks in Congress, etc. who need to see it.

These aren't 40 year documents here, and I doubt Clint Curtis would have gone on the air if the document was a fake to say he wrote it! I'm not even sure what the "fake" suggestion implies. That he *didn't* write it or something? I'm not sure what would be gained from that. Plus, I saw the WORD version of the document before it was printed, signed, notarized and scanned etc.

In other words, it's real. Whether the info in it is true, is what I'd rather see folks investigating (which they are).

Thanks for the various kind words, guys. Has been quite a week!

I think it has not been stressed enough that what Curtis says he has written was only a quick prototype, written in one day. There is no way it can have been used during the election. What this story would mean if it was true is that Feeney was interested in the possibility of cheating, which should surely mandate further investigation.

I just listened to the Hartman Show interview, and that made me a bit suspicious about Curtis' credibility. Twice he did not rule out that his software was used. First asked specifically about this by the host, he only said he just delivered the product, and doesn't know what happened to it. Then when answering the caller, he said that investigation of the machines would be needed to know if his patch was there, after decompilation. I don't think there is any way this could be the case.

Until we get answers about these concerns, we should be very cautious about this story. One possibility mentioned by Hartman is that this could be akin to the National Guard memos, a fake made up to bring discredit on the whole idea of fraud. Another is that this guy is honestly trying to bring attention to this issue, even if it means distorting facts. His comment about the dangers of black box voting leans in that direction. The goal might justify the means in his view, but even then i'm not sure this would be a good tactic.
